Welcome to the Maximalist’s pottery gallery! The gallery is comprised of items from my extensive personal collection of American dinnerware and pottery with a focus on California manufacturers from the 1930s through the 1950s.

Each item in the gallery contains a detailed description of the piece as well as multiple images and 360 views where appropriate. If you’re interested in learning more about the history of the companies represented here, make sure to check out the resources available on The Maximalist.

Decorated Patterns

In 1934, Pacific Pottery introduced their “decorated” lines – a series of glazed patterns on the Hostessware shape. Approximately 50 decorated Hostessware patterns have been found, but many of the patterns are undocumented. Pacific Pottery decorated Hostessware may sometimes have a painted notation or stamp on the bottom indicating a pattern ID. Only official company pattern names have been used. 2000 series patterns often contain variations, which are distinguished by a secondary numerical notation.

This gallery includes what’s in my personal collection and is not fully representative of all patterns produced by Pacific Pottery. For a full list of known patterns, check out Decorated Hostessware.
